Legal & privacy
Cookie policy
How this version of the Cars Reels website uses browser storage and session cookies.
Last updated:1. What cookies do
Cookies are small values a website asks your browser to store and return with later requests. Cars Reels uses a session cookie to recognize authenticated requests and keep your workspace accessible after sign-in.
2. Essential session cookie
The cr_session cookie carries an opaque session token. The application uses it to authenticate requests; account and dealership records are stored on the server. The cookie is configured as HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, with Secure enabled in production.
The session has a configured expiry and is cleared on sign-out. Blocking this cookie prevents authenticated workspace features from working.
3. Analytics and advertising
If Cars Reels enables Google Analytics 4, its tag loads only on public pages after you allow Analytics in Cookie preferences. Before that choice, after rejection, or with a supported Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, this tag does not load. Advertising tags are not enabled. Reel previews use site media rather than embedded social-media players.
The carsreels:cookie-preferences:v1 local-storage entry saves your choices, the consent version and choice time on this browser for up to 180 days. A permitted Google tag can set _ga and _ga_ identifier cookies on this website host for up to 180 days; repeat visits do not extend the configured cookie lifetime. Public page-view events omit URL query strings, fragments and referrers. The Google connection itself supplies technical information such as your IP address and browser information.
Open Cookie preferences in the footer to change or withdraw your choices. Withdrawal disables the tag and clears its identifier cookies, then reloads this page to unload it. If your browser cannot save a choice, optional tracking stays off in that tab. Removing all browser storage or a new consent version requests a fresh choice when the banner is enabled. Third-party services reached through external links apply their own policies.
4. Your browser controls
You can inspect, block, or remove cookies through your browser settings. Removing the session cookie signs your browser out of the service. These choices affect browser storage and do not by themselves delete your account or the server-side information described in the privacy policy.
